Chairman's Feedback on the Monthly Survey of Retail Sales, May 2008
(香港訊，二零零八年七月三日) – 就政府公佈二零零八年五月份的零售業銷貨額臨時統計數字，香港零售管理協會主席關百豪先生有以下回應：
- 五月份的零售增長有所放緩，是意料中事。
- 五．一小黃金對香港零售市道並無影響。
- 綜觀外圍經濟環境不穩，油價、金價、商品價格趨升，致令通脹不斷加劇，協會早於去年初已率先提出警號，呼籲防止通脹蠶食市民消費力及消費意慾，及增加零售商的經營成本。
- 目前零售銷售量 (volume) 大幅回落至二零零六年的單位數字水平，實教人擔憂不已。
- 歐美經濟直接影響香港出口表現及香港整體經濟情況，雖說入境旅客數字一直有所上升，惟趨勢漸見放緩，種種情況對香港就業市場亦有所壓力，直接影響香港零售市場。
- 整體而言，協會維持零八年總零售量單位數字升幅的預期。
