2008 Chinese New Year Retail Sales Situation (香港訊,二零零八年二月十二日) - 香港零售管理協會主席關百豪先生就2008年農曆新年零售銷售情況有以下回應:
(一) 農曆新年前一個星期及農曆年期間的銷情理想;消費兩極化情況仍然持續,高級消費品如珠寶、洋酒、品牌衣飾較去年同期有雙位數字增長,平均為10-20%不等;基本必需品如超市、百貨、快餐等則只有單位數字增長。
(二) 天氣寒冷對零售消費有好的影響,也有壞的。好的影響是增加市民消費意慾,如食品、衣履等;壞的影響是食品及原材料的來貨價格飈升,連同其他成本如租金、工資等的上漲,零售商的邊際利潤較去年已有所減少。
