Chairman's Feedback on the
2007 National Day Golden Week Retail Sales Situation

(香港訊,二零零七年十月八日) - 香港零售管理協會主席關百豪先生就剛過去的「十.一黃金周」本港零售銷售情況,作出以下評論:
(1) 由於去年「十.一黃金周」與中秋節為同一周內,故去年的零售市道較為理想,其基數亦較為大;而今年的「十.一黃金周」則有平穩發展,平均零售銷售總額較去年同期有單位數字升幅。
(2) 「消費兩極化」的問題仍然持續,並似乎有惡化趨勢,通脹對基本必需品的影響,遠較對高價值消費品的影響為大,故協會支持政府協助低收入人士力抗通脹,以改善生活質素。
(3) 今年適逢香港回歸祖國十周年,有不少內地旅客特意來港慶祝國慶假期,而部份訪港旅客均主要惠顧高價貨品,包括珠寶鐘錶及名貴衣飾等。
(4) 本地方面,由於經濟持續發展,就業情況理想,加上股市交投暢旺,造就不少財富效應,故本地消費者在國慶長假期都有外出消費;另一方面,亦有不少消費者趁中秋節及國慶假期多拿兩天假離港旅遊,這對本港零售市道亦造成一定的負面影響。
(5) 部份零售類別在「十.一黃金周」的銷情如下:
- 超市、便利店、快餐等:低單位數字升幅
- 百貨類:高單位數至低雙位數升幅
- 化妝品、珠寶鐘錶及名貴衣飾類:雙位數升幅
- 家居用品:與去年銷情相約,升幅不大
(6) 至於來年零售業加薪情況:協會建議各會員公司以4%左右的加幅為指引,各會員公司應與屬下員工分享經濟成果;各會員亦應以其個別零售類別、公司實際營運情況、及個別員工表現等來決定具體措施,並應盡量以一次性的補償(如花紅、獎金)來代替固定支出,以抵禦波動不定的外圍市況及不斷上漲的成本壓力。
