Chairman's Feedback on the Monthly Survey of Retail Sales, July 2007
(香港訊,二零零七年九月三日) - 就政府公佈二零零七年七月份的零售業銷貨額臨時統計數字,香港零售管理協會主席關百豪先生有以下回應:
(1) 數字與協會預期相符。 (2) 承著上半年的經濟發展理想,市民的消費意欲繼續強勁。 (3) 加上今年七月份有不少政府及商場推廣的香港回歸十周年慶祝活動,吸引不少市民出外消費,而訪港旅客亦見增多(據旅發局統計,入境旅客數字較去年同期上升12.3%)。 (4) 股市屢創新高,財富效應在七月份甚為明顯;致令消費兩極化現象尤為明顯,高級消費品,如珠寶首飾、汽車、數碼及攝影產品等,均錄得理想銷情;而衣履用品等亦在零售商提早減價促銷的情況下,錄得增長。 (5) 然而,協會對香港的長遠發展仍然表示憂慮,當中尤以入口通脹為甚,不但推高本地價格,增加零售商的經營成本,同時亦削弱市民之消費能力;基於目前的經濟情況,零售商並不能全數轉嫁上升的成本予消費者;加上租金仍然高企,零售商的經營情況更是雪上加霜。
