Overview Retail Workshops Professional Diploma in Retail Management Skills Upgrading Scheme		SKILLS UPGRADING SCHEME - RETAIL INDUSTRY Phase III of the Skills Upgrading Scheme courses have commenced in August 2006. In addition to the existing courses of 'Introduction to Retailing', a 4-module Supervisory course, Elementary English and Putonghua language courses, two new courses, namely 'Excellent Customer Service and Selling Technique' and 'Personal Effective Management' have been launched since March 2007. Under the collaboration of Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA) and the Retail Trade Training Centre of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), some 14,000 trainees have enrolled to the SUS courses in the past 4 years. Out of the total enrolment, 78% of the trainees have attended the Introduction to Retailing and the supervisory modules, while 14.5% and 7.5% of trainees have subscribed to the Elementary English and Putonghua courses respectively. The overall pass rate maintains at a very good standard over 90%. Programmes under the Scheme have received very strong support from the industry.
