OBJECTIVES Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be able to: 1. Identify the important role of the trainer in manpower development; 2. Introduce a systematic approach in effective training; 3. Conduct training needs surveys and analyse the findings; 4. Design job-related training programmes; 5. Conduct trainee-centred instructions by using appropriate methods.

Systematic approach to effective training - the four-step approach 4. Conducting training needs survey and analysis 5. Design job-related training programmes 6. Implementation of training: (a) Selection of training methods (b) Choice of training aids 7. The psychology of adult learning 8. Evaluation of training methods 9. Practical demonstration
